High Protein Cinnamon Roll

These High Protein Cinnamon Rolls deliver all the warm, comforting flavours of a classic bakery treat with a protein-packed twist. Made with Cinnabon Glow Shake in the dough and finished with a lighter Greek yoghurt glaze, they're perfect as a satisfying snack or healthier dessert when you're craving something sweet.
Ingredients (makes ~14 rolls)
Dough
2 ¾ cups (340g) all-purpose flour
¼ cup (50g) sugar
½ tsp salt
¾ cup (180ml) milk
3 tbsp (40g) butter, melted
2 ¼ tsp instant yeast (1 sachet)
1 large egg
2 scoops Cinnabon Glow Shakes
Filling
3 tbsp (40g) butter, softened
⅓ cup (65g) brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
Lighter Yoghurt Glaze
¾ cup (170g) Greek yoghurt (high protein)
1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
1. Make the dough
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and protein powder. Warm the milk and butter together until just warm (not hot), then stir in yeast and let sit for 1–2 minutes. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, add the egg, and mix until a soft dough forms.
2. Knead & rest
Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for 3–5 minutes until smooth. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and rest for 10 minutes.
3. Roll & fill
Roll dough into a rectangle (approx. 35 x 20 cm). Spread softened butter over the surface. Mix cinnamon and brown sugar and sprinkle evenly. Roll tightly into a log and slice into ~14 rolls.
4. Rise
Place rolls into a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 60–90 minutes, or until doubled in size.
5. Bake
Preheat oven to 180°C (fan 160°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until lightly golden.
6. Make the glaze
Mix Greek yoghurt, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over slightly cooled rolls before serving.
